What are real estate buyers looking for in a property right now? Are buyers looking for more rooms, are they downsizing, or are they looking for home office space?
What are the prevailing trends in real estate purchase?
Ryan Haley, broker and owner of Atlantic Shores Sotheby’s International Realty, gives us his insight on what Ocean City buyers want right now.
Generally, buyers in Ocean City are asking about location, whether its on the island or in the county. A pool is something that more buyers are looking for. This is something that has resurfaced at the time of COVID.Â
Back at the time, a pool is something that was regarded as an investment that’s too expensive that it wouldn’t give you the full value in return. But this has definitely changed in the time of the pandemic as it has become high in the list of things that people would love to have in the home that they are buying.
Buyers are also looking for more elbow room with larger lots, something like a 3,500-sq-ft home, four to five bedrooms, two-car garage, an acre of land with a pool. This type of listings does not currently exist, but many people are searching for such homes. So, when a home with a large land area and a pool gets listed, they get bought relatively quickly.
