Honesty and Transparency Are Key to Great Client Relationships

If you think that negotiation skills are the top attributes you should have to become a real estate agent that clients love, then you’re totally mistaken.

A shocking result came out of a survey among real estate clients when they were asked, what was the most important thing with a realtor throughout a transaction? 

Most people would have thought that things like negotiation skills or availability would top the survey results. However, most people thought that they had a great transaction because of open and honest communication from the agent. 

Importance of Honest Communication

It’s not a secret that there would be mistakes and there would be unpleasant things bound to happen during the process. But keeping clients abreast while not sounding alarmist is something that makes clients feel good. 

Open communication gives the clients a feeling that the real estate agent has everything under control. At the same time, it gives the clients full knowledge of what’s going on and what’s taking place. 

Good negotiation skills actually ranked fourth in the most important things that clients appreciate about their real estate agents. If this tells you anything… you don’t have to be the best negotiator for clients to like you. 

If you can win that trust, and your clients know that you are working on their behalf, they are going to have a good transaction, more than likely.
