As a real estate agent, you think about differentiating yourself or standing out. But how do you distinguish yourself from other real estate agents?
Ryan Haley, broker and owner of Atlantic Shores Sotheby’s International Realty, shares some tips on how you can stand out as a real estate agent.
There is a lot of noise in the real estate business as a lot of people are doing it. That’s why it is very difficult for any real estate agent to stand out and present their unique selling proposition.
Ryan believes that standing out as a real estate agent has much to do with the agent’s market knowledge. It is also advantageous for the agent to know their product and for them to be a local expert, being the “mayor of your town.”
Any agent can do the basics such as going online on real estate databases like Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com to find a property for a client. That is the easy part.
But what will make a difference will be in the agent’s ability and know-how in helping the client to secure the property, helping them make a good decision on where to be. All of these basically come back to the goals of the client.
As a real estate agent, you need to listen and understand the goals of your clients. What are they actually trying to accomplish? Do they want an investment for pure cash flow, or are they really looking for an extension of their home and a place to get away to?
Once you know the client’s goals, it is up to you to help and guide them to meet those goals.
