What Ryan Haley Did to Establish Himself as a Knowledgeable Agent

“I knew I wanted to be in real estate, but unfortunately, I didn’t know anybody who wanted to buy any real estate or sell real estate. So, I was kind of lost. I didn’t know where I should go,” says Ryan Haley, around 10 years before he established himself as a knowledgeable real estate agent.

Ryan Haley, who is now a broker and owner of Atlantic Shores Sotheby’s International Realty, started his career in real estate by looking for a broker to affiliate with. This was somebody who could educate him and get him started. 

He landed with Compass Resort Real Estate on 72nd Street. Jack Shapiro, who was his first real estate broker, did a great job in mentoring. Jack sat him down in the corner and gave him some tapes, called Floyd Wickman’s Sweathogs. Basically, he was told to listen to the tapes and do what they tell him to do. That was basically kind of the training program. 

What it forced him to do was to get on the phone, learn his scripts and dialogues, and start cold-calling people. This was where it all started. He started cold-calling people, got listings, and did open houses. He started meeting people, and eventually, the business started to grow. 

After more than 10 years of hard work and continued learning, Ryan became an expert in the Ocean City real estate market.
